The Project Management Institute (PMI) Ghana, recently made a significant impact at the National Education Forum, showcasing its commitment to advancing project management education across the nation. The forum, which took place at various locations, saw active participation from PMI Ghana representatives who passionately advocated for the integration of project management into the educational curriculum.

Ho (Volta and Oti Regions)

Representing PMI Ghana in Ho were Mr. Courage Komla Asase, the Head of Volunteering, and Ms. Theresa Egbeadzor, a dedicated member of the Institute. Their presence at the Ho Technical University on February 19th was marked by engaging discussions on the importance of project management skills for young learners.

Cape Coast (Western and Central Regions)

On February 21st, Mr. Olagoke Jonathan Oladele, the Takoradi Branch Chair, attended the forum at the University of Cape Coast. His contributions emphasized the need for practical project management training to enhance the educational experience and better prepare students for the workforce.

Sunyani (Western North, Bono, Ahafo, Bono East Regions)

Mr. Godwin Dzakpasu, the Sunyani Branch Chair, represented the Institute at the Sunyani Technical University on February 24th. He highlighted the transformative potential of project management education in fostering innovation and problem-solving skills among students.

Kumasi (Ashanti Region)

The Kumasi edition, held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on February 26th, saw the participation of Ing. Alberta Amankwaa, the Head of Membership, and Dr. Ivy Abu, a member of the Institute. Their discussions focused on the strategic integration of project management principles into the academic curriculum to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Accra (Greater Accra and Eastern Regions)

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), hosted the forum on February 21st, where PMI Ghana was represented by Mr. Frank Owusu-Asamoah, the President of the Institute, and Ms. Beatrice Amofa Boateng, the Head of Marketing. Mr. Owusu-Asamoah presented a comprehensive proposal to the Chairman of the Committee, advocating for the adoption of project management as a subject from Primary 6. The proposal emphasized the benefits of teaching all subjects through hands-on projects, fostering a more interactive and practical learning environment.

Throughout the forum, PMI Ghana representatives actively participated in plenary discussions, making a compelling case for the inclusion of project management in the educational curriculum.
